Follow Friday #31!

Alison Can Read Feature & FollowFollow Friday!
This is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

Share something you've learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

Well, throughout this year of blogging I've sure learned a lot. But I have to narrow it down to the last month.. Let's see. Oh! In the last month, I've learned how to make my blog pretty. Or at least, just really pink. And pretty. I've learned that a blog appearance is, I quote from somewhere, "the thing that either makes a reader stay or leave." Although it is true that the content matters more than the appearance, a pretty blog will attract more readers and thus, encourage them to stay and read more. Every time I see a pretty blog (and there are a whole lot of those out there) I just go, "oooh" and start to explore. That might just be me, though.. I'm definitely an amateur designer, but hey! I'll progress over time.

What about you guys? If you're a new follower, please comment below and I'll be more than glad to follow back! Happy Friday!

Alison Can Read Feature & FollowFeature and Follow Friday!
This weekly meme is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. This week's features are The Mile Long Bookshelf and Hardcore Heroine.

How do you handle a book you don’t like? Do you DNF or do you power through?
It just depends, actually. I used to power through every single book that I read, even if I didn't like it at all, but now I kind of just DNF if I don't see the point in finishing. Of course, if it's a review copy, then I definitely have to finish, but no one says I can't skim through the last few pages if I really don't like it. I mean, if people said a certain book was SO GOOD, and I didn't like it halfway through, I'd definitely just finish it and see. If not, I'd probably just drop it. But I'd definitely get halfway through any book before even considering DNF-ing it.

How about you guys?

ACTIVITY: PHOTOBOMB!!!! Photobomb a picture with your favorite book. Share it of course.
At first I was like, oh my god. Here we go. And this is what I ended up with. Enjoy.
And yes, I totes was too lazy to go upstairs and rummage in my book piles just to take a picture. So I photoshopped it on like a boss.
Clockwork Princess is like, my fav. Like, absolutely. Totes. Fav. I love this series with a burning passion. Clockwork Princess has definitely made my year, if not my whole life. The tears. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. I hung on to every single page like it was for dear life and I hated how it had to end. I cried on the Author's Note, too. And no, I do not cry easily..

How about you guys?

(She lives like 5 hours away and plus, I can't drive..yet.....one day!!) We never run out of things to talk about, and the special thing about her is that I made her start her blog, LOL! (She rarely updates though, but I promise her reviews are killer. I must learn from her. ermahgerd.)

The twenty four times of doing Feature and Follow Friday were AMAZING for me! I've gotten to discover so many blogs in the process of this, gain followers, and make many fellow blogger friends! Without FF, I think my blog would be a tumbleweed forest..

There's really nothing I would change-- it's completely awesome!

Well, I'm just starting Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers. I've heard a lot of great things about this book and I can't wait to get further into it! Well,  the first few pages is just this drunk guy trying to get the main character to strip... not very fun. Well, stay tuned for my review! I'll be sure to tell everyone what I think.

Q: If you could hang out with any author (living) who would it be and what would you want to do?

I'll have to agree with Alison on this one-- JK Rowling, of course. Harry Potter is THE BOMB. I love that series so much. Ugh. Of course, JK Rowling is practically a celeb and my QUEEN.
I'd also love to meet Cassandra Clare because her books are just amazing. She seems like a really nice person and I'd LOVE to meet her (and make her sign all her books that I own).

Q:  Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate — ? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. It was a book that we had to read in middle school. Usually, I hate reading books in school, and I still do, because the teacher forces you to read together and I'm one of those people that like to read at their own pace (and because I just happen to assume that all the books you read in school are boring)-- anyways, I didn't expect Tuck Everlasting to be such a romance story. It was such a wonderful read, and the movie was absolutely amazing. The book cover kind of threw me off, though. (There's a post coming up about judging books by their covers, LOL)

Follow Friday #18!

8474595901 873f4993f4 Feature & Follow #139 Follow Friday #18~
This is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. This week's features are Readiculously-Peachy and Gone Bookserk.

Q: What is a book you didn’t like that all your friends raved about or what book did you love that wasn’t popular?

Well.  I'll just do both, LOL. So not exactly my friends-- but the majority of the book-reading community, loved Laini Taylor's DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE. I didn't like it at all, in fact, I didn't know what was even happening. Ugh. I felt so bad giving it a low rating since everyone else seemed to love it, I don't know why I didn't. It probably had to do with the fact that I was so tired LOL. I might give it another try in the future.

So a book that I actually liked that's not well known? LITTLE SISTER by Kara Dalkey. I'm serious, if I want to fangirl with someone about it (yes it is so worth the fangirl) I can't find anyone to fangirl with because no one I know read this book! And if I actually recommend it to someone they just dismiss it like whatever
But honestly, it's really good. It's a Japanese mythology adventure story and it's sooooo romantic. Sort of like the beauty and the beast concept! In its own.. Japanese way! More people should read it but they don't bother to which is really sad because it's so good.

Anyways, if you follow me, guys, feel free to leave a comment below and I'll be more than glad to follow back. Happy Friday!

Q:  WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE VILLAIN FROM A BOOK?

Yes. This question must be designed to kill me. Well, if this question means, "Which villain is the most evillest villain you have ever met," then I've gotta say Lord Voldemort. Gosh. I don't even think that's a legit answer. Well, Voldemort made me hate him and fear him so much throughout the whole HP series. And he was just evil. If Voldemort came to the real world I would die. And so would everyone else. Unless Harry comes and saves the day. One reason, among many other reasons, that I like (despise and fear) Voldy is because he is very clever. I mean, look at all those Horcruxes. Wow. Ugh. I just hate Voldy with a burning passion okay but he's still my favorite villain.

Q: IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE SUPERNATURAL BEING/CREATURE TO REALLY EXISTS WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Are Shadowhunters a valid answer? LOL. Just kidding. Well I have to agree with Rachel @Parajunkee on this one. Most supernatural beings/creatures are just really scary. So yeah, mermaids are pretty cool. Vampires, well. I don't want Twilight to become real, and have people like Renesme drown out our population. And faeries, please. No. I hate them. Werewolves. No. What else. I can't think right now. Therefore, mermaids are my set answer right now.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. This week's features are My Library in the Making  and Read, Breath, Read, Everyday.

Q: WHAT IS THE LAST BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY? TELL US ABOUT THE SCENE…

Okay, okay. This is gonna be sort of difficult. Because I don't really remember the last book that made me cry. Because a LOT of sad books make me cry. Aha. And I really dislike spoiling books to people, so I'm going to be very, very general and broad about this one: (I decided to choose this one because I love it okay)
Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness. The last book to such an amazing, amazing trilogy that I will never forget. It's terrible. Horrifying. And freaking, effing, gorgeously, amazingly, fantastically written. THERE'S JUST THIS RANGE OF EMOTIONS THAT POUR THROUGH YOU AND LIKE OMG OMG YOU WILL DIE AND GET REVIVED WHEN YOU READ THIS SERIES--

Okay you can read my review on this, just search it on the Navbar up there! ^^ Okay. So.

There was this scene. Where one of the most important characters died. I DROPPED the freaking Nook and started screaming and crying and shaking and I'm serious too. I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU'RE KIDDING. And yeah. Really that's all I have to say because Patrick Ness sucked all my emotions out and let it pour out like a waterfall when I was reading this. This series, is so, definitely a recommendation.

Q: Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?

Oh, how I love these activities. Okay, so. I would want to be Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare. She's on the cover of Clockwork Princess. And she's gorgeous. I would love to enter the world of Shadowhunters. And her talent is amazing. Like, she can turn into anyone she wants.

I think we're alike in our attitude. Okay, since I read Infernal Devices months ago I don't exactly recall what she was specifically like. But what I DO remember is that she was really persistent on things. Like I am. LOL. And she knows how to take care of herself. She knows how to be clever. And most importantly, she loves to read. I think that's the most similar similarity. I'm not exactly clever like her all the time. LOL.

Anyways, you guys. If you follow me, just leave a comment below and I'll be more than glad to follow back! Happy Friday!

Follow Friday #13.

Follow Friday!

This meme is hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View. This week's features are Novel Reveries and Oh! Paper Pages.

Q: Activity! Who is your to-die-for book crush? What do you think they look like? Add an image to make us all happy.

Aw snap. Out of the 13 FF questions I ever answered this has got to be my favorite. So for those of you who know me, you all know how fangirly I am when it comes to fictional hot-guys, right?! Anyways, if you don't know me personally, there you go! So, my book crush, of course, is James Carstairs from Cassandra Clare's Infernal Devices series.. People call him Jem. I love him. He's like, a total gentleman. He's hot, and everything. Ermagerd. He's so good at fighting demons and he's so amazing and KJFKLSJDKLFSJDL. He's on the cover of Clockwork Prince, He's so gorgeous. He's half British and half-Chinese. And so flipping FABULOUS. AND HIS HAIR. THAT HAIR. HE HAS SILVER EYES AND SILVER HAIR. AND HIS HAIR IS CURLY. OMG. His attitude is so much more hotter than his appearance, which totally seems impossible. But it's possible. Oh. He's a classic 18th century gentleman. He seriously renders a girl speechless. When I first met him in Clockwork Angel I immediately fell in love with him. Boom, there ya go. I just totally love 18th century guys..

Jem does have flaws. But he does everything to fight them. Which just makes him HOTTER. (I'm such a die-hard fangirl. My friend thinks I'm infatuated but, no.. Not really. AHA.)
