Movie Review: Divergent (REVIEW REDO)

Yes, here I am again. Yes, I deleted the first review. After watching this movie for the second time. (But Liana, are you calm enough yet to write a legit review this time?) YES I AM. And ha-ha-ha, no, my love for this movie has not decreased at all. Not a single bit.

This is definitely one of the BEST book-to-movie adaptations I have ever seen. That probably explains how my first movie review post was completely crazy and contained nothing else but me screaming at you about how this movie was fucking perfect and that you had to go see it...

You have no idea. As some of you probably know, I read the book quite a while back and I didn't really remember all the details. However, I read Allegiant recently (and fuckity fuck fuck fuck that ending), and this movie just managed to bring up all my Allegiant feels. Again.

Movie Review: The Time Traveler's Wife

Oh Henry DeTamble, how I love you. This post contains spoilers.

So, recently, I read The Time Traveler's Wife and hoooo boy was I NOT disappointed. Audrey Niffenegger really knows how to get to the feels. Here's my book review: http://bookaholic-ness.blogspot.com/2013/12/book-review-time-travelers-wife-by.html

But the movie.. I was disappointed. A little. I got 40 minutes into it and was uber disappointed. BUT THEN, the second part of the movie made up for it.

There were a lot of things I disliked, but there were also parts I liked.

Movie Review: Catching Fire

Let me just start out by saying how much I absolutely adored this movie. Man, this was completely amazing. I loved loved loved loved loved it. At first, I was kind of reluctant to watch this, because, first, I didn't really like Catching Fire. Personally, I felt that it was an unnecessary sequel. But oh my god, after watching this, THAT WAS SO AMAZING I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT FOR THIS MOVIE. I loved it a LOT. A lot more than I'd expected to. It was completely amazing, Jennifer, Josh, Liam-- they did so well as main characters. (Elizabeth Banks is so pretty I can't breathe. Effie says another precious mahogany line LOL) I really enjoyed seeing Finnick come to life on the big screen, as one of my favorite characters. Sam portrayed his character very well (except he lost his cocky exterior really quickly). This followed the book a LOT more than the first movie did. If you're doubting going to see this, doubt no more. Go see it. This was a really, really good adaptation and I absolutely loved the effects. Completely fabulous.

Movie Review: TMI, City of Bones (& Crazy Fangirling!)

OKAY GUYS OKAY IT'S HERE -- MY MOVIE REACTION. DO NOT PROCEED BELOW IF SELECTIVE CUSS WORDS (anger caused by ignorant little shits on the internet) AND MOVIE/BOOK SPOILERS (so it's highly recommended that you go watch the movie if you haven't already and revisit this post) MAKE YOU NAUSEOUS THANK YOU HAVE A NICE DAY

Okay. Okay. Breathe. I'm overwhelmed with emotions right now. It's a bit hard to type a post at the moment, but I really have to.. Ah, where do I start.

I've been waiting for this movie for 10 months, and in that 10 months, we fans have gotten many trailers, stills, and HANDFULS of movie info. I can't help but think the movie's been spoiled for me already (and I've already read the book, too) because of those trailers and stills and clips and stuff. But that didn't really make the movie any less amazing. Not really, anyway.

Let's just start off with the actors/actresses.

Movie Review: Percy Jackson- The Sea of Monsters

Alrighty, recently I went to the movies and saw SEA OF MONSTERS! (I went to see it the day it premiered, and this is a scheduled post BUT OH WELL) It was completely awesome.

Well, anyways, this movie was really good. Despite all the complaints about The Lightning Thief, they really tried to fix it up by following the book a lot more.

Movie Review: The Host

The Host by Stephenie Meyer.
Click here to read my book review.

Well, okay. Let's try this. This is my first book to movie comparison post, so let's see how this works. I just watched The Host, after reading it, and I couldn't help but make a blog post.

Overall, I thought it was a fantastic movie.

Rate(1-10): 8.5!

Likes:
-Saoirse Ronan was a really good actress. We could tell the difference between Melanie and Wanderer very easily.
-Jake Abel. Can we just take a moment to appreciate his perf-ness. Oh my goodness his jawline I can't.
-The movie plot was well-explained, and I think people who haven't read the book would understand what in the world was happening.
-They didn't change too much from the book!

Dislikes/discomforts:
-Saoirse, no matter how good of an actress she is, doesn't fit the role of Melanie physically. I don't think the Seeker was legit either. And their eyes were supposed to be green. So, basically, the minor differences bothered me lots.
-Left out details. In the healing scene, where they healed Jamie, there was so much more than just one spray! There was more, but that was just one of them. But, oh well. A movie can only be so long.

It was a really good movie. I bawled, even if I knew there was a happy ending. (Must be the sad music! Dang!) Compared with the book, the book was much better, I have to say. Isn't the book always better, though? But I felt like I needed to watch the movie because I needed clarification on some things, which the movie helped explain.

But yes. You guys should totes read the book first if you haven't already and watch this movie!
