Book Review: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

The Adventures of Huckleberry FinnThe Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Goodreads: Of all the contenders for the title of The Great American Novel, none has a better claim than The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Intended at first as a simple story of a boy's adventures in the Mississippi Valley - a sequel to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - the book grew and matured under Twain's hand into a work of immeasurable richness and complexity. More than a century after its publication, the critical debate over the symbolic significance of Huck's and Jim's voyage is still fresh, and it remains a major work that can be enjoyed at many levels: as an incomparable adventure story and as a classic of American humor.

Book Review: Proxy by Alex London

Proxy (Proxy, #1)Proxy by Alex London
Book Summary: Knox was born into one of the City’s wealthiest families. A Patron, he has everything a boy could possibly want—the latest tech, the coolest clothes, and a Proxy to take all his punishments. When Knox breaks a vase, Syd is beaten. When Knox plays a practical joke, Syd is forced to haul rocks. And when Knox crashes a car, killing one of his friends, Syd is branded and sentenced to death.

Syd is a Proxy. His life is not his own.

Then again, neither is Knox’s. Knox and Syd have more in common than either would guess. So when Knox and Syd realize that the only way to beat the system is to save each other, they flee. Yet Knox’s father is no ordinary Patron, and Syd is no ordinary Proxy. The ensuing cross-country chase will uncover a secret society of rebels, test both boys’ resolve, and shine a blinding light onto a world of those who owe and those who pay. Some debts, it turns out, cannot be repaid.

Liana's Summary: Knox was born rich. He's a Patron, after all. Syd is his Proxy, and being the Proxy in a Patron-Proxy relationship is definitely the opposite of lux. Whenever Knox does something wrong, Syd is punished for it. But how far will it go? Will Knox do so many wrongs, that Syd is sentenced to die? Neither of the boys expect to meet each other, but when they do, what starts is one hell of an adventure.

Book Review: Splintered by A.G. Howard.

Splintered (Splintered, #1)Splintered by A.G. Howard.
Book Summary: This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.
Liana's Summary: Alyssa can hear them- the bugs and the flowers. Apparently, it runs through the females in her family, starting from her great-great-great grandmother, Alice, the Alice that went to Wonderland. Alyssa never plans on stepping through that mirror, to go to Wonderland. She never meant to take Jeb, her best friend, with her. Down into the rabbit hole, following the White Rabbit. Or was it even a rabbit in the first place? As romance develops, so does Alyssa's independence, when she realizes no one is going to rescue her. She's going to have to rescue herself, along with Jeb. But can she do it?

Rate(1-10): 9.5

When I first heard about this book, I was pretty excited to read it. Nope, I am not disappointed. Actually, I'm very, very impressed, hence the high rating. Actually, when I first heard about this book, I didn't even know it was an Alice in Wonderland retelling. I mainly wanted to read this because it was a new release in the YA category. And, knowing me, I go for all the new releases.

First off, the cover. The cover is so cool. It looks like it should be scary (extra scary for me since I despise bugs like crazy) but it's really not.
The synopsis is very, very captivating. An Alice in Wonderland retelling? How cool is that?! This is actually the first and only one I've read. Honestly I'm kinda sick of princess retellings. LOL.

Okay, so. One of the best things about this story is that the main character, Alyssa, is actually a descendant of THE Alice. Alyssa just goes to Wonderland AFTER Alice has visited it. Which is just so cool. I mean, the Disney version is kinda off..

There was character development in Alyssa that I noticed and liked, and I love the fact that she KNOWS she's a different person afterwards. She was pretty useless in the beginning and she couldn't be alone. But afterwards, when she realized that no prince in shining armor was gonna save her, that she had to save herself, I liked her as a main character that much more. You can see her strength building up throughout the story.

The beginning of this book was sort of slow, but maybe that's because I took forever to read this due to my procrastination.

There were many plot twists, plot twists that just make you gasp out loud. I swear, A.G. Howard, what a great job! And this is a debut novel too! Her writing is just absolutely amazing. There was suspense and adventure, and that's what I love in a book!

The romance was perfect, and I think a love triangle has already developed. Although, right now, it's clear who she wants to be with. Of course this is a series (series are the shit right now, I don't even know why), and tbh I can't wait to see what happens in the second book (although this would have done fine as a stand-alone), which I just found out a few seconds ago is called Unhinged and will be released in 2014. Pretty cool title, right?

Overall, this was one hell of an awesome ride! Definitely a recommendation!

Book Review: The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd.

The Madman's Daughter (The Madman's Daughter, #1)The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd.
Book Summary: In the darkest places, even love is deadly.

Sixteen-year-old Juliet Moreau has built a life for herself in London—working as a maid, attending church on Sundays, and trying not to think about the scandal that ruined her life. After all, no one ever proved the rumors about her father's gruesome experiments. But when she learns he is alive and continuing his work on a remote tropical island, she is determined to find out if the accusations are true.

Accompanied by her father's handsome young assistant, Montgomery, and an enigmatic castaway, Edward—both of whom she is deeply drawn to—Juliet travels to the island, only to discover the depths of her father's madness: He has experimented on animals so that they resemble, speak, and behave as humans. And worse, one of the creatures has turned violent and is killing the island's inhabitants. Torn between horror and scientific curiosity, Juliet knows she must end her father's dangerous experiments and escape her jungle prison before it's too late. Yet as the island falls into chaos, she discovers the extent of her father's genius—and madness—in her own blood.

Inspired by H. G. Wells's classic The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Madman's Daughter is a dark and breathless Gothic thriller about the secrets we'll do anything to know and the truths we'll go to any lengths to protect.

Liana's Summary: Juliet thinks that her father may be alive, but she refuses to believe it-- that is, until, an old but familiar diagram leads her to the last person she expects to see-- Montgomery, the boy of her childhood, the childhood that was lost ever since her mother died and her father left. After Juliet loses her job, mainly because of self-defense, she goes to Montgomery and tells him to take her with him to see her father. But is her father the same loving, gentle man that she used to know? Or has he been driven completely mad? Juliet has to deal with her long lost father, and two boys that are completely in love with her at the same time. But she can find a way out of this mess- can she?

It's been a while since I've chosen a book to read all by myself without any recommendation from anyone. And this book was FREAKING AMAZING. I can't contain myself, LOL. It completely deserves the 5 stars and even more if I could give it.

I honestly don't know where to start because I can't-
My feelings-
Ineffable-
INEFFABLE-
I can't put this into words-
This book was too fabulous-
omg-
so done with life right now-

Well, I'm gonna try to spit it out. Ahem. So, the title speaks for itself. The main character is a daughter of a madman that just so happens to be performing vivisection brutally and making wild animals into human-like beings----

Okay okay character discussions

Juliet- She was a likable main character, opposing sexism the whole entire time. She seems a bit too stubborn, though, and sometimes really desperate. She's brave but not really brave, and very, very.. brusque. But still a likable protagonist.

Edward- You see, when he first came in I just knew that it was going to be a love triangle. Well then. At first, I abhorred him for ruining the perfect relationship between Juliet and Montgomery, but... Well, Edward is a complex character.

Montgomery- He. Is. Hot. omg. When he first got introduced to the story, I got really excited since I knew that the book was about to get even better than it already was. Montgomery is a kind, caring, and composed man. He keeps his secrets and does what he does for the good of others. He's a true gentleman.

The ending was too much for me to handle. I couldn't even breathe, omg. Like, seriously? THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME, MEGAN SHEPHERD, I CAN'T.

The romance was all right. However, Juliet seemed a bit torn in between and it just annoyed me out of my mind-- LOL at least I know clearly which guy I'm rooting for now

Honestly I have to admit that I'm really disappointed there is going to be a sequel. I mean, I'm glad there's more of the story to see and I'm definitely gonna get the next book when it comes out-- but. But, the ending of this book was absolutely perfect and tragic and, even if there is more to write, I feel like a sequel will ruin the perfectly constructed ending of this book. Well, that's my opinion, anyway.

Nonetheless, I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book and this is definitely a recommendation that I'm willing to give to anyone.

Quotes~

"..his handsome features.."

"..tied his blond hair back."

HE HAS LONG BLOND HAIR OMG
SO DEAD

"I'm going to have you tonight,.."

"..something undeniably attractive about him.."

NO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO THINK HE'S ATTRACTIVE STOP YOU HAVE MONTGOMERY OK

"I like getting to know you, Miss Moreau."

edward please go away

"..you looked even more beautiful when I thought I was dying."

no edward stop

"...he kissed me."

I don't know what to think anymore -sobs-

"I came for you, Juliet!"

Art thou Romeo? Oh wait it's just Edward

"Montgomery tackled Edward."

"She was in love with him."

NOOOOO

"He's been in love with the mere idea of you for years."

D'aaaw that's so cute

"His lips found mine."

"You're too good for him,"

stupid, naive Edward SHUTTHEFUCKUP BEFORE I ENTER THAT BOOK MYSELF AND SMACK YOU UPSIDE THE HEAD

"But my father can."

So close..

"No!"

------
Megan Shepherd is such an amazing author, and this is just her DEBUT. Wow, amazing. There were so many plot twists in this story I can't even breathe anymore
So, that's all.

Book Review: The Glass Swallow by Julia Golding.

The Glass SwallowThe Glass Swallow by Julia Golding.
(Companion to Dragonfly)
Book Summary:Rain
She designs exquisite stained glass for the windows of her city. But the law is clear — it is forbidden for girls to be part of the glassmaker's guild. To keep her secret hidden, she leaves home and travels to the strange new country of Magharna.

Peri
When he witnesses Rain's capture by a gang of bandits, both his fate and his heart becomes tied to hers. They escape the outlaws, but Peri and his family of falconers are untouchables who are scorned by all, and Rain is not allowed to be part of their lives.
Can Rain and Peri's love survive the prejudices against them? And with the city on the brink of disaster will they be able to stop their world from smashing apart?

Liana's Summary: Rain Glassmaker sees an adventure as an adventure, not a dangerous endeavor to a foreign city. But, when she faces a bandit attack, it's all up to her to make the decisions-- after all, she's the only one they left alive, only due to the brave Peri Falconer. As the two slowly find romance, the city is already this close to destroyed- so will the romance last? Will Rain and Peri work well together, to find out what to do next?

Rate(1-10): 7.8

There I go, with the decimals again. I dunno, I don't really think it deserves a 7 or an 8, for that matter. It's too good to be given just a 7.5.. Well, you see my logic.

Anyways. Since I liked the first book lots, I had decided that I wanted to read the companion book. And no, I was not disappointed at all! In fact, I liked it a lot, although it wasn't as good as Dragonfly.

I'm glad that this wasn't exactly continuing Ramil and Taoshira's story, because they don't really deserve to go through any more adversity after all they've already been through, and I'm just glad to say that they lived happily ever after.

So, Rain, the protagonist, is a stubborn and adventurous character, and independent, and realistic. She's insecure sometimes and a whole chunk of defiant. She shows that, in a sexist world, women can do something that matters and that's pretty amazing.

Peri. I got excited when he first came to be introduced to the story because I knew that he was the character that Rain was to fall in love with, or at least, meet, but knowing Julia Golding's writing style, I knew there was gonna be at least a little romance, right? Peri is a great guy. He gets angered easily, although I feel like it's sorta a version if irritated worry. He worries too much, LOL. I find that somewhat annoying and somewhat cute. His exterior is calm, however, like I said, he's always worrying for the people who he cares for.

The romance is so cute. It's not really love at first sight and it's not too strong like I LOVE YOU SO MUCH I'D DIE FOR YOU. Actually, I'm a fan of that hardcore strong romance, but Julia Golding romance is just FLIPPING TOO CUTE TO HANDLE.

The setting is absolutely perfect, I love it.

You can tell I loved this book.

Quotes!
Note: Quotes may not be perfectly identical to the ones in the final print version, since the version I read from was an ARC copy.

"The poor boy's in love with you--"

D'awww LOL.

"She'll have to marry one of us,"

AIN'T NO COUSIN OF YERS WANNA MARRY YAH

"Cousin, would you do me the very great honor of entering into a betrothal with me?"

SAY NO

"..but will always need a man to shield you."

HOW SEXIST. This is why I like Rain so much. She proved that sexism does nothing to stop her, or discourage her from anything she wants to do.

"I'm sorry you have to touch me,"

it's okay, when you two get married you're gonna touch each other all the time (THAT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE DIRTY OMG)

"It didn't help that he was still the most attractive Magharnan she'd met."

-giggling in a corner creepily-

"Why must you find this girl?"

Because, MOTHAAAR, of true love

"Do you trust me, Rain?"

This is so Aladdin I'm about to cry

"..and stole a kiss,"

YES YES LOL

"You are not fighting,"

It's because she's a girl innit

"Oh, don't stop. I was enjoying that."

I can't help but laugh so hard at this quote. Oh Peri, you're so q.

"Listen, sweetheart,"

AWWWWWW THEY CALL EACH OTHER SWEETHEART OMG THEY'RE TOO CUTE I CAN'T

"I think I want to kiss you again,"

Then do it

"You're wrong."

You tell him, girl!

Book Review: There Comes a Prophet by David Litwack.

There Comes a Prophet There Comes a Prophet by David Litwack.
Book Summary: Who among us will cast aside a comfortable existence and risk death to follow a dream?

A world kept peaceful for a thousand years by the magic of the ruling vicars. But a threat lurks from a violent past. Wizards from the darkness have hidden their sorcery in a place called the keep and left a trail of clues that have never been solved.

Nathaniel has grown up longing for more but unwilling to challenge the vicars. Until his friend Thomas is taken for a teaching, the mysterious coming-of-age ritual. Thomas returns but with his dreams ripped away. When Orah is taken next, Nathaniel tries to rescue her and ends up in the prisons of Temple City. There he meets the first keeper of the ancient clues. But when he seeks the keep, what he finds is not magic at all.

If he reveals the truth, the words of the book of light might come to pass:

“If there comes among you a prophet saying ‘Let us return to the darkness,’ you shall stone him, because he has sought to thrust you away from the light.”

Liana's Summary: The world was kept peaceful for a thousand years, by the ruling vicars. Apparently they're right, what they do is good, and what they make people do is for the greater good. When Nathaniel's friend Thomas comes back from his teaching, he's different.. aloof. When Orah is taken next, Nathaniel goes on a rescue mission to save her. Somehow, the three end up going on an adventure of magic.. or what may seem like magic. They are going to the keep.

Rate(1-10): 8

First of all, I'd like to thank the author for giving me a chance to read this book by generously sending me a free copy!

Originally, I was planning to take a huge break from dystopia because I was getting a bit tired of the genre. But, oh well. Here I was, reading a dystopian book. LOL. Basically, this is just a whole alternate universe with tyrant-vicars ruling. Some of the rules and regulations from dystopian worlds just don't make sense at all.

Honestly, this book was actually pretty good, even if it wasn't my usual genre.

Character discussions-

Nathaniel-- He's great, and I kind of think that I didn't get to know him well enough. But he's a great character, always ready to sacrifice himself if it meant saving someone he cared about.

Orah- She's a really strong character. But sometimes I felt as if she was always the damsel-in-distress.. But now that I think about it I realize that she couldn't have done anything in her situation. She's really smart and I don't know where the guys would be without her.

Thomas- I would call him the Ron Weasley of the trio. He likes food.. a lot. And no matter how unimportant and burdensome he may seem, everyone will end up loving him. He's there when everyone needs him, and there when no one needs him as well. You gotta love Thomas. But he isn't like Nathaniel. He'll betray his friends to save himself..

After I finished this book I looked back at the title and cover picture and now realize how much sense it makes. It's really symbolic. Although it's not the most gorgeous cover

David Litwack did a really good job of creating this dystopian world with its own little mix of 'magic'.

I wish there could have been more romance. Although the few romantic parts were really cute, I felt like it wasn't enough. Well, of course, for a romance fanatic like me. I kind of felt like the kisses came out of nowhere, though.

This story emphasized a lot on friendship and loyalty, and betrayal as well. It was such an important aspect that I don't know what would have happened without it.

Overall, it was a really entertaining read.

Quotes-

"He was glad she'd come."

And yet he tried to chase her away

"The directions to the keep."

"..making the Temple and humanity safe for all time."

'safe'

"That we'll never make it to the keep."

SO NEGATIVE

"I believe in my friends."

This is oh-so-loyal and everything but I couldn't help but think of Barbie

"...leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek."

AWWWW c;

"..and kissed him."

"At you, Orah. I was staring at you."

"It was the arch vicar."

"To the keep, holiness."

"I'm your friend, Thomas,.."

"..and gave the names of his friends."

"No. This session is ended."

Rate(1-10): 10

Hoo, boy. What a summary. You can tell I loved this book so much that I nearly wrote a book report essay in that summary section.

Cindy Pon is way too good.

After reading SILVER PHOENIX, I knew I had to read this one.

The beginning of this book continues right after the first book's end. Well, not exactly right after, but close enough. And I love that.

My sister, while reading this, was complaining about how different the cover is from the first book's cover, meanwhile complaining about how it's so plain. However, I liked this cover well enough and I think it's pretty cool and symbolic-- although it could have been more colorful. But whatever-- don't judge a book by its cover, right?

I ship Ai Ling and Chen Yong with such a passion. They're perfect for each other and their relationship sounds so realistic. It's amazing and so adorbs and romantic. Chai.. Long. Or Ain.. Ying! omg I give up trying to merge a ship name.. anyways, just ship them because they are perf for each other! Keep calm and ship Chai Long!

Now, Zhong Ye. Y'all have no idea how much I hated that man in the first book. I WANTED TO KICK HIS NONEXISTENT PENIS UNTIL HE DIED. STUPID FUCKING EUNUCH. omg. Anyways, in this book, everything was explained and I was just like 'oh'. He's a very complex character and he's just like an onion. (Ogres have layers) This is so Severus Snape. If you know what I mean..

I like how Jiang and Xian culture were both in this book because that's pretty cool. Just saying.
Also, the chapter decorations. Those little drawing thingies at each chapter. Cindy Pon, what a designer! Btw, just a note. Do not attempt to read this book on an empty stomach because all the fabulous food will make you freakin' hungry
OVERALL, THIS BOOK ENDED SO PERFECTLY THAT I DON'T EVEN CARE IF THERE'S NOT A NEXT BOOK BECAUSE THE ENDING IS JUST SO PERFECT AND I LOVED THIS BOOK

Quotes~

"He gave her rump a shove for good measure."

"Ai Ling?"

And.. the moment of recognition!

"She's my... sister."

"I'm bored with my favorites. Find me a new girl."

"You're cockless."

It's probably rude to eunuchs how I laughed at this for about literally 5 minutes

"Strip."

"Silver Phoenix, master."

"..across the taut muscles of his shoulders and biceps."

OOOH CHEN YONG'S MUSCLY

"No. I've had no time for love."

Cos' ain't nobody gat time for love

"..wooden eating sticks."

Could you possibly mean chopsticks

"We can be friends to each other?"

FRIENDS

"I've got you."

"But he would not look at her and simply shook his head."

"..made her more fetching."

"Ai Ling is my sister,"

"I don't know if I can ever forgive you."

"He had cut his hair short,.."

"I would fast for you, Li Chen Yong."

That is saying so much (SHE'S JUST LIKE ME BECAUSE SHE LOVES FOOD AND I LOVE FOOD AND I WILL GIVE NO ONE MY FOOD IF I LIKE IT) omg brb crying they're too cute

Book Review: The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. (Heroes of Olympus #3)

The Mark of Athena (Heroes of Olympus, #3) The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan.
(Heroes of Olympus #3)
Book Summary: Annabeth is terrified. Just when she's about to be reunited with Percy—after six months of being apart, thanks to Hera—it looks like Camp Jupiter is preparing for war. As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon masthead, Leo's fantastical creation doesn't appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans that the visitors from Camp Half-Blood are coming in peace.

And that's only one of her worries. In her pocket Annabeth carries a gift from her mother that came with an unnerving demand: Follow the Mark of Athena. Avenge me. Annabeth already feels weighed down by the prophecy that will send seven demigods on a quest to find—and close—the Doors of Death. What more does Athena want from her?

Annabeth's biggest fear, though, is that Percy might have changed. What if he's now attached to Roman ways? Does he still need his old friends? As the daughter of the goddess of war and wisdom, Annabeth knows she was born to be a leader, but never again does she want to be without Seaweed Brain by her side.

Narrated by four different demigods, The Mark of Athena is an unforgettable journey across land and sea to Rome, where important discoveries, surprising sacrifices, and unspeakable horrors await. Climb aboard the Argo II, if you dare....

Liana's Summary: Annabeth is finally reunited with Percy. Everything's supposed to be perfect, right? Wrong.  It looks like war is coming. Seven demigods-- Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Leo, and Frank. The seven of the prophecy. They must be separated. Each with different tasks. Annabeth must do her task alone, to avenge her mother-- to follow the Mark of Athena.

Someone tell me why I didn't pick this up earlier. (Probably intimidated by the thickness, which is nothing like me) I got this like, five months ago, aware of how good Rick Riordan was, and didn't pick it up 'till.. last week. Yeah, I know. I took forever. Mainly because I was procrastinating like there was no tomorrow, or it might have to do with the fact that I had too much homework. Idk. The main point is that I took so long on a Rick Riordan book which is such a shocker.

Enough of that. Anyways, I loved loved loved this book. The cover is so gorgeous (has so much meaning behind it just like all other Rick Riordan book covers) and the synopsis just makes your heart leap out of your throat. I originally thought that this was going to be a trilogy, but, guess not. I think that's a good thing! But gee, what a cliffhanger. What an ending. Ermaferkengerd.

What I found ironic and slightly funny was that this included a few myths that I just barely learned. Such as, Echo and Narcissus. We were barely doing Greek mythology in our English Honors class and we learned the story of Helen of Troy, of Echo and Narcissus, (since we're reading The Odyssey atm) and I just crack open the book and see those myths. And it makes so much sense and it's so much funnier.

Character Discussions-
Percy- I LOVE PERCY JACKSON, PERIOD. HE'S FRICKIN AMAZING. He's such a sweet guy! Any girl would want a boyfriend like him.
Annabeth- She's so much more mature, since she's older and all, but she's still the know-it-all daughter of Athena. Yes, love her.
Hazel- Since she's from the past and all it's all kind of awkward. And no matter how cute they may seem, I do not ship her and Frank... Now that I think about it, there were really less Frazel moments in this book.
Piper- She's great. LOL. Yeah, she's really caring and I know she would do anything to save the people she cared about.
Jason- I feel like all he really did in this book was get knocked out. LOLOLOL. But yeah, Jason is amazing. He and Percy make such a great team. If they were single I would ship Percy and Jason so hard it would hurt
Leo-LEO VALDEZ IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWSH HE'S SO AMAZING. The class clown that all the girls love. He's funny and creative and even more, he's a very very very amazing mechanic. And since I want to be an engineer... wow just wow I love Leo and that is all
Frank-Honestly I don't like Frank that much. But he's there when everyone needs him and he's there to save the day whenever people need his.. bravery. But yes. He's great, in his own way.

In this book I was sort of surprised and then again not surprised by my foreshadowing skills. Prophecies aren't supposed to make sense until it's too late, but I found myself making sense of the prophecies before any of the characters did. (; I think Riordan did it on purpose. LOL.

Rick Riordan must be a god. It amazes me how he can weave these words together just like Arachne can weave them webs. That man is truly amazing. I don't know if it's his writing or if it's just the mythology that I love- but yeah. ALL I CARE IS THAT IT'S AMAZING AND YES, IT IS AMAZING.

I can't wait for the next book.
