Book Review: Liesel & Po by Lauren Oliver.

Liesl & Po by Lauren Oliver Liesel & Po by Lauren Oliver.
Book Summary: Liesl lives in a tiny attic bedroom, locked away by her cruel stepmother. Her only friends are the shadows and the mice, until one night a ghost appears from the darkness. It is Po, who comes from the Other Side. Both Liesl and Po are lonely, but together they are less alone.
That same night, an alchemist's apprentice, Will, bungles an important delivery. He accidentally switches a box containing the most powerful magic in the world with one containing something decidedly less remarkable.
Will's mistake has tremendous consequences for Liesl and Po, and it draws the three of them together on an extraordinary journey.
From New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver comes a luminous and magnificent novel that glows with rare magic, ghostly wonders, and a true friendship that lights even the darkest of places.
Liana's Summary: Liesel's father and birth mother are both dead. All she has left are her stepmother and her stepsister, and all they do is send her tiny morsels of food and keep her locked up in the attic. Will is the alchemist's apprentice. But does he even want to be? Po is a ghost. It's not a boy or a girl. At least, it doesn't know. When the three cross paths they go on an adventure, no matter how many bad guys come to stop them, each desperate for different things. (Or not!)

Rate(1-10): 8
Yes, people. You guessed right. I'm such a Lauren Oliver fan that I would read all her books, even the ones for children and in the Juvenile section in the library. Yes, I love her that much. And yes, Liesel & Po was just a temporary tranquilizer for me to stop throwing tantrums about more Lauren Oliver. (But what I really need is Requiem)

Anyways, about this book. I liked it, actually. But since I'm such a wuss I really can't stand the ghosts. Seriously.. LOL.

So Liesel is just a poor little orphaned girl who just lost her dad, and she's basically locked in the attic. Will is an orphan boy, a bit of a klutz, but he's likable anyway. Po is an it. (Most of the story, heheheh) Po is a ghost and Liesel doesn't know if it's a boy or a girl. Yeah. Po is awesome. In the end of the story I honestly think Lauren Oliver wanted to make this a Lena-Julian-Alex thing. In little kid version, LOL.

I think this story is a mix of Cinderella and The Twelve Dancing Princesses (Barbie movie version, anyways) with a mix of Lauren-Oliver-style. Which was pretty cool.

Lauren Oliver herself said in the Acknowledgements that this was the most personal book that she'd ever written and it means a lot to her. And I commend her for writing such an amazing book. In 2 freaking months. Only.

Oh yes! The illustrations were amazing as well. Very detailed.

Well, overall, I think you can tell I enjoyed this.
Quotes!

"Are you a girl or a boy?"

LOL WHAT
"Po had remembered how to lie."

omg my feels
"There is no time for that."

AIN'T NOBODY GAT TIME FO DAT
"And then he stepped on a bit of broken glass."

Of course. -__-

"He was enjoying the girl's attention."

HAHAHAHA omg Will.

"You are to find the Lady Premiere.."

Holy shit. Another betrayal.

"..somewhat annoyed that the ghosts had been Liesel's first concern."

Is that jealousy I smell? LOL.

Book Review: Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin.

Where the Mountain Meets the Moon Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin.
Book Summary: In the Valley of Fruitless Mountain, a young girl named Minli spends her days working hard in the fields and her nights listening to her father spin fantastic tales about the Jade Dragon and the Old Man of the Moon. Minli’s mother, tired of their poor life, chides him for filling her head with nonsense. But Minli believes these enchanting stories and embarks on an extraordinary journey to find the Old Man of the Moon and ask him how her family can change their fortune. She encounters an assorted cast of characters and magical creatures along the way, including a dragon who accompanies her on her quest.

Liana's Summary: Minli is determined to change her family's fortune. So she decides to go find The Old Man of the Moon, who can answer any question in the world every 99 years. Minli is determined. Leaving her parents a single note of where she's going, she immediately sets out alone. With the help of a talking goldfish she was lucky enough to encounter, she finds out exactly where to find the man she's looking for. On the way, she encounters a dragon who can't fly-- who's wish is to learn how. Minli's story revolves around loyalty, friendship, and many other important morals in life. Grace Lin takes you on an enthralling journey through the topic of Chinese Mythology.

Rate(1-10): 8

This book was actually better than I would have ever anticipated. Being Chinese myself, I enjoyed reviewing my Chinese mythology and I actually learned some more, too.

Minli is the main character of this story, and her dad LOVES to tell stories. A handful of stories in this book are actually from her dad. Her mom is always complaining, "WHY YOU GOTTA TELL THEM STORIES. AIN'T GON' GIT US ANYTHING." But her dad tells stories anyway, and since Minli's mother is always complaining about how they're so poor, Minli goes off to chase a myth, believing her father's stories. But they actually turn out to be real. Yep, that's right. Real. Making this story more than Historical-Fiction. It's a blend of Fantasy and Mythology and history at the same time.

Somehow, this sort of reminded me of The Chronicles of Narnia. They both taught morals and protagonists are faced with a decision that's really hard to make. This was a really, really moral-filled story. It was a fun and quick read. My eyes were tired from reading The Kill Order so I sort of cheated on TKO for this book. LOL. It only took 2 hours though, since the text was HUGE, and there were pictures as well (totally good for younger kids).

And I really have nothing left to say. That's that.

No quotes! I kind of sort of started this book in the middle of the night.. with a flashlight..
What did you think of this (really short) review? (;

Book Review: The Salamander Stone by CJ Fenge.

The Salamander StoneThe Salamander Stone by CJ Fenge.
Book Summary: Amber discovers a conspiracy so earth-shattering it threatens the whole of the human race. Forced to go on the run, it seems that she has enemies in every corner - some for her power, others see her as their savior - others still Seek her out of twisted love or simple lust. At the center of everything, the Salamander Stone Attracts more than earthly evil. A demon is after Amber as well, and his desires are unthinkable.

Liana's Summary: Amber's Salamander Stone is crucial. To her. And although she does not know it, many others consider it crucial, as well- and they are all determined to get their hands on it, even if it means killing.

Rate(1-10): 8

Surprisingly, there is a lot to say. I think I have more to say when it's a PDF copy, since I keep track of my note/thoughts on a WordPad document instead of in my mind (Which, mind you, is filled with Trig Bio French Academics English Homework Papers Assignments..). Okay, so where shall we start?

First of all, here is my range of emotions throughout the whole book:
worried Okay. I am not putting any more. Although this was not all. It is BASICALLY and SUPERFICIALLY what my emotions were. Wow. Now that I actually type this out, I realize that this book got some emotion out of me.

A little note about the protagonist: She seems strong, yet whiny. She's okay. I'm unbiased. (She has a lot of guy friends. Signifies that she's sort of tomboy-ish and not that great among girls. I mean, she has a few girl friends, but she's not really popular and girly among them. I like that.) But, unfortunately, since this book was in third-person POV, I didn't really get a chance to know the main character that well, because I only understand a character really really really well when the story is told in first person, therefore letting me view their thoughts and preferences.

Main character discussions:

Amber: Main, main character. She's on the cover. My thoughts about her are in the paragraph above.

Khiza: He is such a good friend! He seems like a really caring big-brother to Amber.

Meshak: He reminds me of Lennie from Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Not because he has Intellectual Disability, which Meshak does not, it's because they are both tall and big characters that don't act mature enough for their size. I don't really like Meshak because of the things he did, and his immaturity as well ruined any chance of me actually liking him as a character.

James: I almost forgot about him. But he's really nice! I like him. He didn't really appear in the latter half of the book. But he and Amber were really cute in the beginning!

There are actually more characters than this, of course, but those four are the only ones that I actually feel I have enough opinions about them to make a description. That sentence made no sense. Good God. It's late in the night. Oh, and, after all, I did put "Main Character Descriptions." ;D

What I liked about this book was that it was already suspenseful on the first page. And then I got a little lost, which was actually my fault, and then the story actually improved in the latter half!

I did the shameful thing- judged a book by its cover. Okay, everyone has to admit that they have done that at least once in their lifetime of book-obsessing. I may have had the wrong judgement on the genre, but I didn't have the wrong judgement about how this book was going to be. :D As you see, I labeled this book as "Fantasy". It sort of is! The title. Let me explain the title. I've once read this really good book called "The Salamander Spell" by ED Baker, ( I don't have a review for that one specific book. Maybe I'll reread the whole series. It's a series fit for 5th-7th graders.) and ever since then, whenever I saw something Fantasy-ish and/or the word "Salamander" on it, I would just get attracted to it. omg. So that is exactly what happened with this book. So, the title, would be better explained through this one simple analogy: The Salamander Stone is to The Salamander Stone as The Hunger Games is to the Mockingjay. I hope the majority of my readers have read the Hunger Games? c:

I like how one of the side-antagonists(One of the antagonists but not really THE antagonist..) was hidden at first- it gives you this feeling and tells you what to expect, because, what kind of legit story has no antagonist? The point was, I totally thought the dude was a good guy in the beginning.

And yes. There were parts in which I was so bored I did not know what I was reading. I just thought of this comparison: Old guys in Chinese Dramas talking about random political stuff that no one cares about. Honestly, every time I watch a Chinese Drama, I'm just like, "BRING ON THE ROMANCE. OH YEAH." I'm such a sucker for romance novels. LOL. No. Erotic romance does not count. Yeah. There were parts in this book just like that. Talk talk talk- no one cares. What's happening to the protagonist, I need to know. Well. I suppose that it's the way of dragging it on so the reader keeps reading!

This book has the kind of ending that just gets you satisfied. You feel that rush of air- you're finally done. It's a really good ending! Despite this one part that I wasn't happy over. I'm not saying what it is.  It's dramatic, but I like dramatic endings.

I think the time period/genre of this book is modern-ish? It's kind of Dystopian in a sort of way. I can't decide on the exact genre. 20% Fantasy. 80% Mystery/Spy/Suspense.

You know what I just noticed. The antagonist is an evil Asian. I will say no more.

I have to commend the author's writing. It is really good. It keeps the pages turnin'.

Comment on the romance: I can hardly consider this a legit romance. I thought that the two characters who 'loved' each other treated each other with brotherly/sisterly love. I think it's supposed to be sort of like that!

Is there a moral to this story. Is there? Don't get jealous or else you'll die. That's the best one I got. omg.

Oh yes, and a note to parents: It does say Middle-School Level in the labels for this post, but there are still swear words. If you are uncomfortable with your child reading swear words, then please don't read this to them or suggest that they read it! Otherwise, it is highly appropriate! I myself recommend this book to younger readers.

Time for quotes& commentary!

"For an instant she glimpsed his face behind the rainbow, tiny, as if down a long tunnel, his jaw set and determined as he fought to reach her."

SO ROMANTIC ALREADY. I LOVE THIS.

“No, Dr. Cheung, you cannot have Amber Brigantia, not yet.”

“I know everything there is to know,” he continued, “about all of them.”

“Fuck you!” he snarled, and left.

She hadn’t thought of him as a gum-chewer; only kids who wanted to appear cool bothered with it.

Ok so first of all, chewing gum looks stupid. SMACK SMACK SMACK

As Pitt entered the Control Centre he saw Mrs. Fedorowicz watching a large screen projection of Amber and James sitting by the walnut tree.

Is there anything that Amber does that is NOT watched by her stalkers? Really?

Amber tried to look round for this “he”, but ----- suddenly kissed her full on the mouth.

<3 AWWWWWW.

It was Meshak, his face contorted with jealousy.

Oh. LOL. So much boys.

Amber had called to him—and he was coming.

She’s not here but I’ll get her to ring. Your number’s reading ‘Payphone’. Give me your number.” He seemed desperate.

He's so whiny. GIVE ME YOUR NUMBERRR.

He crushed her hands against his chest, against his heart. “Without you there is no life, no Khiza.”

This is really awkward beyond my border for awkward. And oh, believe me. I have a wide patience for awkward.

He began to crawl, blindly, up the sandy rock-strewn path, following the drumbeat; following Amber.

I'm getting irritated at this stalker.

He knelt over her and let the earth trickle through his fingers, onto her head, her body.

Oh ew dirt on her head.

“Daniel Everington, if that’s gum you’re chewing you’re in trouble.”

LOOOOOOL.

He leaned forward, looking her directly in the eyes. “Amber... you are the one.”

community abed wiggle eyebrow

“You sadistic bitch!” spat Ophelia.

YOU TELL HER, GIRL.

Go to the toilet.”

“I... I don’t mean to hurt you, Amber,” he faltered, “I just want...”

It's over. Don't even try anymore.

At last Meshak stirred. “Why do you hate me?” he said suddenly.

You dumbass.

“You love him, don’t you, that stinking cripple!” He let go. “I wish I had killed him!”

OF COURSE SHE LOVES HIM YOU STINKING DUMBASS

Pardon my language but he's such a DUMBASS.

“I want you to love me, Amber,” he said in a rush. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

“I am Khiza.”

 Indeed you are.

"..said Aidan quietly."

omfg Aidan. Long story.

BE POLITE. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST.

Have I told anyone how much those school posters annoy me.

“Go away,” he said weakly.

“Who is James?” Khiza asked in tones that sliced the air like a knife.

image

“Now, Jakob, I want to explain in detail what is about to happen to you.”

I'm scared.

Cheung’s glasses flew off and broke with a tinkle on the opposite wall.

SO ASIAN, COMPLETE WITH GLASSES.

"..familiar. She was still Amber, she knew that, but she was also the High Priestess of Brigit-Ana who must carry out the ceremony to save her people from the anger of the gods."

This is finally some Mythology/Fantasy.

“Eat earth,” he grunted viciously.

image

"..you bloody, bloody bastard!”

FLDJFKLSDL:SDK

He took a phone from his jacket pocket and held it for a moment, watching Amber, still curled up and sobbing out Khiza’s name.

I seriously thought he was going to take a picture.

What are you going to do with me? Meshak!”

“You’ll want me soon enough."

She'll never want you.

“I think you know why. I have to kill him.”

Spit Out Water

“That’s what she said,”

-pedoface- Hehehe. See how much immature moments I have.

She felt a surge of energy as a white light thudded into the man’s back.

OH MY FREAKING CROUTONS THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY

A stab of loneliness had pierced his heart.

HA NO ONE CARES.

"..and his odd two-tone eyes.."

Someone tell me why this boy is a Graceling. Someone tell me why. He's not eligible to be one of them.

He licked at it, drinking it in.

He licked the air?

She smiled. Yes, it was her school now.

So, let me get this straight. She did all this evil-torturing-antagonist thing JUST so she could rule the school? What?

Daddy used to say that. He always said, “There’s nothing like a good soak.”

It's so sad when a character remembers something from someone who has passed on. It's so sad.

Yes, he did, Amber,” he said at last. “You have been touched by him.”

"..you will lose me for ever!” Khiza looked at her, his large almond eyes suddenly moist.
“I have lost you already, Amber.”

image

“I am Khiza,” he said simply.

image

“You killed her, you bitch. You killed my daughter!”

That escalated. Quickly.

The Key descended.

THE KEY IS THE SUBSTRATE, AND THE CUP IS THE ENZYME. I've been seeing Biology notes everywhere and now I see this. omg.

“No.”

Bitch you ruined it. And this is the part where I start to dislike the main character! AKA THE ENDING. ISN'T THAT FAB.

Book Review: The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry.

The Amaranth EnchantmentThe Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry.
Book Summary: When Lucinda Chapdelaine was a small child, her parents left for the royal ball and never returned. Ever since, Lucinda has been stuck in perpetual servitude at her evil aunt’s jewelry store. Then, on the very same day, a mysterious visitor and an even more bizarre piece of jewelry both enter the shop, setting in motion a string of twists and turns that will forever alter Lucinda’s path. In this magical story filled with delightful surprises, Lucinda will dance at the royal ball, fall under the Amaranth Witch’s spell, avenge her parents’ death, and maybe—just maybe—capture the heart of a prince.

Liana's Summary: Lucinda is just that girl in the jewelry maker's shop. But, after her uncle dies, her aunt brutally kicks Lucinda out, accusing her of robbing her family. Lucinda has nowhere to go. So she goes to the Amaranth witch. Lucinda gets tangled in an adventure, with Peter the beggar. When she meets Prince Gregor, though, she gets utterly distracted. How will things turn out? It all depends on her decisions.

Rate(1-10): 8.2

Okay, so it might not be fair if I gave it an 8. Because it's merely not an 8. It's not like the other 8's. (x So add the 0.2. There you go! That's what I really think of it.

First of all, I just loved the humor in this book. It's just applied there, you know? I thought that this would be a romance, but obviously I was wrong. Just embarrassing some guys, that's it. I think my favorite part would be where she chased Peter down in a duchess dress. omg. Peter. That rascal. But still, I like Peter. I used to like Prince Gregor more, but Peter is my prince now, if you know what I mean. (; Anyway, Gregor is actually pretty nice but he's so STIFF. No, not the right word. He reminds me of Prince Kai from Cinder by Marissa Meyer.

So this book had the guy characters Peter and Gregor, as I have mentioned in the above paragraph. At first, Peter appeared as a street hobo with dirty looks. And then, I just want to say this, since it's so predictable. I just know that he's gonna get washed up and Lucinda's gonna be all like, OMG.

I finished this book in about 2-3 days, I think. It took that long because I hate reading on my ereader especially when I download the PDF file and transfer it, because the text is so darn small! And then you have to widen the text and then whenever you turn the page you widen it again. And I had to read it sideways because the text was just too small upright. Okay, enough about the text. I was about to say that there wouldn't be so much quote reactions since I read this on the ereader, but there is a lot. Sort of. LOL. Okay. There's a Teacher's guide to this book. http://www.julieberrybooks.com/TeachersGuideTheAmaranthEnchantment.pdf

So maybe it's supposed to be a class read? Most likely for elementary school kids, since there was no romance. The reason this book wasn't a 10 was because of the lack of romance. Okay, even if there was romance, it would be a 9. Okay. Because there are just those books that I gave 10's to. Don't get me wrong, I loved this book! The rating is my personal opinion, which shouldn't matter to you unless you plan to read every single book I read. Anyway, yeah. I think I'm just going to finish all the books on my ereader first before moving on to paper books. After the paper books, I'm moving back to my ereader, and then after that paper books. Okay, enough babbling. Time for quote reactions!

"Your Majesty," he said..
"Your what?" I said.
"Er," said my customer.

LOL. I knew it.

"You don't need to do that," he said.
"Do what?"
"Get down on your knees. Unless you are proposing marriage.."

Oh my god. The humor. I can't breathe.

"Don't touch me!" I yelped.
"Hide me!" he whispered.
I blinked. "Hide you?"

Oh god. What an intruding pervert.

Silence. Then, "There's room."
I jumped. His voice came from close by, on my bed. I  recoiled in disgust. Thought he and I'd be cozy now, did he...

Oh my god. 'There's room,' has got to be my favorite line. EVER. Oh my god, oh my god. Really. I laughed so hard.

"I know about you.."
Stalker.

"Peter," I croaked.
PETER. -malicious glare-

I wrinkled my nose. "I don't want to dance with him.."
LOL. Oh my god. Lucinda.

"Hortensia Montescue. I believe you call her Aunt."
WHAT. omg this is getting so good.

"You!" I gasped.
"Me," he agreed, looking amused.

So, in Rick Riordan's Throne of Fire, and the Serpent's Shadow, there's always a guy that appears and says, me, after someone glares and says you. I gotta use this. These have got to be the best acknowledgement  lines in the whole world.

His eyes narrowed. "You don't say.."

I just thought of this meme. I had to. LOL. The prince and his humor.

"Peter?" the prince asked, surprised. "Miss Peter? Miss Peters?"
Reminds me of the part in Disney's Mulan where Shang asked her what her name was and she said Ling, Mushu, etc. Lucinda was just glaring at Peter and she said his name, and then the prince was all like, Peter?
"Truth to be told, I couldn't say. One day you're sharing your bedroom with street thieves, next day you.."
Oh my god. Peter. Peter. He's not quite the one to say this, isn't he? (x

Peter's eyes bulged. He swallowed hard and stepped back.
Oh my gosh, his reaction! So, he told Lucinda that she has an advantage in robbery because she's a girl and she can flirt with the guys to distract them, and then he tells her to practice on him and he just gets this reaction. LOL.

His eyes... He caught himself suddenly, stiffened, pulled away.
"Pardon me. I.. I was trying to hear you better. The noise..But I'm neglecting your dancing lessons.."

Oh, what excuses! No guys. This is not romance.

The soft, damp touch lingered long after his lips were gone..
She's talking about her face, you wrong-minded adal;fd. But still. Isn't that a bit over-detailed? Spit on her face. Fab.

There stood Gregor, and beside him, to my great shock, was his father, King Hubert....
._. You're doomed. You're dead, Lucinda, you're doomed. I can't bear to read this.

The sticky-faced prince who'd drunk too much punch...
Gregor? Yeah, him. The one you didn't want to dance with? Yeah, him. The one you're swooning over? Yeah, him. Punch guy.

Handsome, I realized with surprise...

EW.

"You!" I said.
YOU! -seethes-

Aunt's face contorted into a grimace of bewildered disgust.
After some apologies. LOL. Omg.

"You've mussed up my hat," he said after a while.
"Blast your hat."

Blast your hat! I just had to laugh.

Once, he'd amused me- in a maddening sort of way..
Haha. Very funny.

Lucinda, you're a fool to forgive him.
Awh, if it makes him happy, then it's all good! Even I pity him right now.

"Give me that!" I snatched the bun from Peter's hand and bit into it..
omg. Can you imagine that.

"Take off everything, and put these on"- she handed me silk underthings..
Underthings. Interesting. o___o

"The dress fits," Beryl said. "Doesn't it, Peter?"
"Um-hmm," Peter said, his face flushing..

Oouu, (x

He pressed its tip gently into my belly.
I thought when people threaten others with knives, they put it at their neck. Wtf. Belly.

Gregor seemed dissatisfied with my lack of feeling..
Psh, take what she gives! She deserves to provide lackluster..enthusiasm in front of you. (Is lackluster an adj? omg. I forgot.)

Peter made a noise of annoyance.
Can't you tell, Lucinda?

--------------
Yes, I did say there was no romance. You may think there is, but there's not. Oh god. Lucinda said that she felt Gregor's whiskers on her lips. That just.. kadj;flasjld I wanted her to end up with Peter, personally. I'm not saying what happened. No spoilers, remember?

Out of all the characters, I like Beryl the best. She is so nice, oh god. I need to borrow her personality for one of my characters in Incend.

I just want to say this. Julie Berry did make me laugh, but not quite so much times as Rick Riordan did. Yep, he's the comedian! I would like to recommend this book to all of you fairy-tale lovers.

Book Review: The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman.

The Grimm LegacyThe Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman.
Book Summary: Elizabeth has just started working as a page at the New York Circulating Material Repository - a lending library of objects, contemporary and historical, common and obscure. And secret, too - for in the repository's basement lies the Grimm Collection, a room of magical items straight from the Grimm Brother's fairy tales. But the magic mirrors and seven-league boots and other items are starting to disappear. And before she knows it, she and her fellow pages - handsome Marc, perfect Anjali, and brooding Aaron - are suddenly caught up in an exciting, and dangerous, magical adventure .
Liana's Summary:  Obviously, giving the shoes to the homeless woman was a good decision. When Elizabeth gets a job at the library, she gets acquainted with Marc, Anjali, and Aaron. Things are pretty strange there: Does magic really exist?

Rate(1-10): 8

This book was actually better than I thought it would be. It took awfully long though, since I've been awfully busy with awful awful homework. You get the point. I think it took 3 days? Yeah. :c I would've took 2. I was determined to finish it.

There's a lot of things to talk about. Okay. So first off, I want to talk about Marc. Marc Meritt, the basketball star, is really really tall. And Aaron hates his guts, because Anjali likes him instead. I think him and Anjali are a cute couple. Just saying. Aaron looks like Michael Jackson. ._. :c Scary. And I definitely like Marc better than Aaron. Not that Marc and Elizabeth would make a good couple. Ew. No. Just no. He's too tall. Aaron is really just ugh.

And there's Anjali: I think she's my favorite character in this whole book. Basically because she's got the smarts. And so talented. And nice. I don't know, maybe if she wasn't in the story, Aaron would'nt hate Marc. But, yet again, if she wasn't, everyone would be lost. What would they do without her sister?

And Aaron. I talked about Aaron in the last two paragraphs already. He's scary and he looks like Michael Jackson. He's so awkward! In the beginning, he's only nice when he's talking about rugs. And then he gets all mad when anyone mentions Marc, and whenever Anjali's there or when they're talking about her, he just gets all dreamy and I'm all like. What.

So then, yeah. I thought that Dr. Rust was really scary at first. Or was that Doc? I don't know. I think they were both scary. The bad guy in this story wasn't that unpredictable, because I wasn't that surprised.

Omg, at the cover. "Borrow the magic...if you dare!" Seriously? ._. That made me create a really bad impression on this book. But I guess it's pretty good.

And the end of the book is so " I can show you the world! Shining, shimmering, splendid!" You'll see if you read it. It's so awkward. Like she's seeing the world with Michael Jackson. I can't help but think about M.J. whenever Aaron's in the scene. And he's such a big fat jerk in the middle of the story.

And Jaya, what would I do without Jaya? She's the one that made me laugh at all in this whole book. Like, out loud. Not like "Wow, funny." Or, *smirk.* Like, really, HAHAHAH. Or maybe silent wheezing. That's more like it. My point is -She's hilarious.

Okay! So here are some of my quote-reactions: (Like 3.)

"Aaron was much nicer when he was talking about rugs than when he was scolding me about not breaking things, I thought."
MEAN.

"He had a beautiful, firm, handshake."
Oh, psh. That's Anjali's boyfriend right there. Don't even get too obsessed with him.

"He got a dreamy half-smile on his face. 'Anjali.'"

So is this why Aaron hates Marc so much? Anjali? (;
That is all. I think I would've done more, but it's just that I didn't have my sticky tabs with me on the car, and I was too lazy. But my point is, the ending is so I CAN SHOW YOU THE WORLDDDD. A WHOLE NEW WORLD!

It's so Aladdin.

So then, I'm going to move on to another book now. Jack London's Call of the Wild! It's a recommendation from my Dad, although really small and thin. I think, if I tried, I would be done really soon? I don't know. It all depends on time!

Bye~
