Book Summary:
A SACRED OATH
A FALLEN ANGEL
A FORBIDDEN LOVE
Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.
Liana's Summary: When Nora meets Patch, she's immediately annoyed. It's like he was made and put on the Earth just to annoy her. But it turns out that he was put on Earth for a very, very different reason. Even still, the romance still develops, but of course, not everything can go too smoothly.

Well, yes, this book is as good as people say it is. Totes worth all the buzz.
Usually, I hate this storyline:
-Girl is in class
-girl sees hot guy across the classroom
-best friend tries to hook them up
-hot guy turns out to be different (powers, messed up past, etc)
-girl falls in love with guy
-guy falls in love with girl
-something dramatic happens
I DESPISE THAT STORYLINE. Especially when it's a Modern Fantasy, gosh, I despise those with a burning passion--
Anyways, I just wanted to say that Hush, Hush was somewhat like that but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I think it's because of Becca Fitzpatrick's engaging writing (amazing, and this is her debut!) or it could possibly be that Patch is sizzling hot.
The romance is absolutely amazing. I haven't read a good romance book in such a long while (for like, three weeks) and I haven't gotten a chance to meet another hot fictional guy character in a very long time. So yay. Win-win.
This book does have the topic of fallen angels in it, hence the cover, so don't read it if you hate books with angels in it with a burning passion.. I don't blame you though. Some authors just get it all wrong.

Characters:
Nora- She's a good enough protagonist. I mean, I don't really like her. She's sort of annoying at times but yeah, I can handle.
Patch- Watch out, everyone. We've got a hot guy coming through. And I'm speaking Jace Wayland hot. I swear. (Or maybe it's because I haven't read anything with hot guys in a very, very long time.. but still! PATCH CIPRIANO OH, MY GOD)
Elliot- And I thought he was nice.
Vee- You know, the best friend. The one that always goes out and does crazy shit and moves the plot on. The friend that tries to pair the main character with a guy.. Vee is that character. She's not exactly annoying.
Looking forward to read the next book. (I hereby apologize for this rushed review.. I'll probably regret this later, but...oh well!)

That's that. What do you think of this review?(:
I have always wanted to read this book. There were two things that I was always hesitant about. One was, like you said, the cliche storyline. Secondly, the story honestly just seems scary. I get terrified really easily!

You should totes give it a try! It is an exception from the oh-so-hated cliche storyline, like I said, and completely un-scary!
DeleteI've heard pretty good things about this good. I've been wanting to read it for quite some time now. Glad you enjoyed it!
