As more and more surprises unfold, Allie finds herself with three companions, set out to find Kanin, and then four, to find Sarren and cure the world of Red Lung-- and hopes that it won't be too late.
WOW. CAN I SAY, WOW. WOW, WOW, WOW.
For the purpose of writing a reasonable and understandable review, I will restrain from screaming and CAPs-locking and releasing my inner fangirl. Needless to say, this was a reallygood book. And I really mean really. This book deserves a prize and freakin' Julie Kagawa deserves a medal. Several medals. This. Was. Awesome.
It might have started out a teeny bit slow. I'd opened this book last month, but of course there were a whole bunch of review copies to be read-- so unfortunately, I could not read The Eternity Cure in peace. Therefore, I had to drop it and read the other copies. As I've said, the beginning WAS a bit slow, and by beginning I mean like, the first thirty-six or so pages, so I wasn't exactly engrossed in the story as I should have been. Therefore, it was easy to drop. Unfortunately. And finally, FINALLY, have I gotten my chance to get back to this, and hell. Why didn't I read it earlier? WHY DIDN'T I BUY IT RIGHT AWAY WHEN IT CAME OUT?!? Oh, yeah. Because I didn't know how awesome this book actually was.
The imaginary plot chart of The Eternity Cure starts rising slowly and then gets higher and higher and higher-- and then it drops, and then it spikes again (I don't even know how many times) and drops-- and spikes one last time, and ends.. Now that's an awesome plot chart. An awesome plot chart that makes me cry.
-If you have not read the first book you probably won't understand what I'm rambling about in the next few paragraphs so feel free to read on if you wish. If you've read the first book, and don't want to know ANYTHING about book 2, turn back now and do not read on. But it'll be spoiler-free. Sort of. If you've read this book, read on and feel my suffering and pain..-
My favorite character would definitely be Jackal. That's right.Jackal. Jackal is fucking awesome. He's one of those amazing characters that seem to be soulless and demonic but actually has a soft interior that only some people can reach. Plus he makes snarky comments. I love Jackal and his snarky comments. That's all I'll really say. Since I promised this would be spoiler-free. Sort of.
Zeke. Ah, Zeke. Of course Zeke would come back, right? Zeke is cool. The romance between Allie and Zeke has developed so well (I can't believe that I actually shipped Kanin and Allie once upon a time like what was I doing) it makes me want to cry. The romance is totally worth reading. -whispers- He doesn't see the monster in her anymore..
There are so, many, freaking, twists, and, turns. It makes me want to cry too. But that's what makes the book awesome, right? What else could a reader ask for.. EXCEPT FOR THE THIRD BOOK?! That's right. This book. Ended. With. A. Damn. Cliffhanger. And Goodreads is telling me that book three is not coming out until NEXT YEAR. GIVE ME BOOK THREE. GIVE IT.
Blood of Eden is officially my favorite vampire series of all time. And oh yeah, I've read a lot of vampire books. So are you hesitant about giving this book or even this series a try?! Don't hesitate any longer! Because Julie Kagawa's writing is absolutely AMAZING and leave you speechless.
