Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can’t deal with bad editing?
Okay, so I hate those books in which the main character goes to the WRONG guy in a love triangle. Like, they must be BLIND. The perfect guy is right there and they go to the other side? What the heck! Also, abrupt endings are just one of my pet peeves. At least make the ending dramatic and lovely and cute or something instead of abrupt! Ohmygoodness, my rants. LOL. But basically, that's kind of all of what bothers me the most.

OH SO TRUE. I don't like love triangles, but I especially dislike when you KNOW who the right guy is and they choose the wrong one! Then you have to suffer through that added complication for an annoying amount of time. Great answer!

The wrong guy = the bad boy, usually. But they're irresistable! XD

Abrupt endings and love triangles. I can't even keysmash my frustration, to be honest. I'd never stop.

I hate it when the heroine picks the wrong guy! Though most of the time I am rooting for the underdog or the bad guy. smh...

Endings which aren't endings, hate them. And love-triangles aren't my thing, but at least pick the right guy already! Haha, great answer!

I agree about the love triangles, but sometimes it's not quite so clear who the right guy is. I usually can't stand it when the two choices are some hot brooding guy with issues or a hot funny friend that has let her step all over his heart for 10 years and she picks the guy with emotional issues! haha.
ReplyDeleteGreat answer. Thanks for stopping by my blog and following! Following you back via GFC!

Good answers! I hate when they pick the wrong choice in a love triangle! *sigh* And abrupt non-endings frustrate me too...dramatic is ok, but a non-ending is just wrong! Thanks for sharing, new follower via GFC :) Here's my FFF

:) I can't stand love triangles to begin with. They're just a bit overused. And I don't like the indecisive characters. Regardless, I admit that I start talking to the book and telling the character she's making the wrong decision if she picks the wrong guy! ;)

Love triangles are horrible if they aren't done right. I read a book a couple weeks ago that was exactly what you described and I was so disappointed. The whole time I knew which one the author wanted her to be with, and I kept wanting her to be with the other guy. Good pick!

Haha. That is why I don't care much for love triangles. I mean really, is it that tough a decision?

I find it difficult to deal with too many point of views, too many characters in just a few pages and plot roles. Also I don’t find bad edited books very attractive, and this can turn out to be a deal breaker in the end. Love triangles I can deal, but I’m getting tired of reading the same things in romance books...

I also hate when the protagonist makes the wrong choice - but sometimes this is well-played by the author, so I don't have that much of a problem with it :)
