Why I Love My Gay Boyfriend by Sabrina ZolloWhy I Love My Gay Boyfriend by Sabrina Zollo.
Book Summary: When Veronica graduated with an MBA and dreams of saving the world, she never knew she would end up a corporate slave to the lipstick gods, in love with her playboy boss and in need of a gay best friend to make her feel fabulous. Straight out of school, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, Veronica has her heart set on an honourable job, such as saving starving children. Instead, she accepts a job at Gisele, a global cosmetic empire that seems to mock her every value. Veronica struggles to fit in until she meets Stevie, a gay co-worker, who immediately assumes the role of fashion counselor and fabulousness.

Under Stevie’s mentorship, Veronica flourishes as a vixen and marketing peon. But for Veronica to truly succeed at Gisele and seduce her boss, she must bequeath her soul to the makeup gods and sacrifice her friends in a ritual known as corporate brainwash. How far does Veronica go before she realizes she is losing everything she once valued, including herself?

Liana's Summary: When Veronica accepted a job at Gisele, she didn't know what she'd signed up for. As she gets caught up in everything, she starts to lose her friends- so what will she do about it?

I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I don't think I enjoyed this novel as much as I wanted to, and as much as I hate writing negative reviews, I guess I do have to write one after all.

Things I liked:
-The title and the cover. How creative, right? It's just very appealing. It's actually what lead me to read this book.

And that list just sort of ends there.
Things I didn't like:
-The main character. Veronica was very, very naive and annoying. She was just.. no.
-The whole story and its plot organization. Throughout this whole story, I was just waiting for it to become interesting. Like, okay, where is this going?

I'll admit that I scanned the last few chapters, but I'm not sure if they were worth reading or not. Guess I'll never find out..

Nonetheless, you might enjoy and it or you might not.

"Hi, Jasmine... Tit?"

oh my god you did that on purpose didn't you

"I wondered what was wrong with me.."

Um everything

"I'm Matt, but you, Miss Lopez, can call me Mateo."

"I instantly hated her."

oh my god can you not

"Stevie, may I borrow your girlfriend for a moment?"

"He's a VP and I have a huge crush on him."

"It's so stupid!" I wailed. "Why am I crying?"

because you're stupid omg

"What did he see in her?"

"If I had balls, they'd be shrunk to nothingness at this point."

best quote of the book

"How can you be so stereotypical?"

"So how's it going with Jamie?"

Can you not ask that

"Great girl, but we're not together any more.."

"That's too bad,"

"I like working with you too."

"You back-stabbing bitch."
